For ACP countries, Guidelines for 2004 Mid-Term Reviews under the ACP-EC Partnership Agreement have been adopted by the Commission.

These Guidelines clarify the key features of a mid-term review, the layout of the mid-term review conclusions and the main steps for 2004 mid-term reviews.

No formal guidelines for MTRs have been adopted for those countries under the responsibility of DG RELEX.

The European Commission has now adopted the guidelines for the MTRs (English) (French)
EC Delegations in ACP countries should now be preparing consultations with civil society and other non state actors. The in-country stage runs from July to mid October. See timetable As of 16 October 2009 the deadline for the "in-country" phase has been extended to 15 November
